April is the cruelest month. There has been a lot of speculation about what T. S. Eliot intended with that line. Were he a professor at UIS (as I am), he would of course have been referring to the end-of-semester grading crunch. Having chaired one search committee, served on another (that is bringing candidates to campus next week?), helped draft a proposal to start an online master's degree program, and taught five courses (well, three of these were half-semester courses, so I only have four at the moment), I'm on a 14-hour work day schedule, and I haven't had a day off since two days back in March I took off. On weekends I cut back and work just eight hours per day.

So, the blogging has been a bit sparse. I promise to get back in action after grades get turned in.
